New York Financial Regulator Hiring Another Crypto Expert

New York

The State of New York has listed a new job opportunity for a crypto expert to help with their extensive regulatory efforts according to an advert posted online on Thursday.

According to the advertisement, the Department of Financial Services is looking for applicants for its Deputy Superintendent position in Research and Innovation Division “with a special focus on virtual currencies, digital currencies, blockchain, distributed ledger technology, and other related innovative and derivative products and technologies”

The duties of the newly created post will include maintaining liaison between the industry and the state government, providing guidance to the staff responsible for regulating crypto firms, coordinating with the federal government and some other unique responsibilities.

Requirements for the post include JD/MBA as a preferred degree as well as extensive knowledge of the sector and experience in financial markets. For a more detailed list of requirements, please follow this link to the original advertisement.

The good thing about the advert is that at least according to the language of the advert, the New York government is not seemingly looking for an expert to help them start their crypto ban machine. They genuinely seem interested in adopting progressive crypto policies but only time will tell what the department will actually work on once it is commissioned.

Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview later on.
