Asia Pacific Conservative Union Launches Anti-Authoritarian Blockchain Network

Conservative Union

A blockchain-backed network designed to fight authoritarianism, the Liberty Ecosystem, has been launched by two executives from the Asia Pacific Conservative Union (APCU).

The said project has been co-founded by Yasu Kikuta (CEO and co-founder of APCU) and Jikido “Jay” Aeba (Chairman APCU). The main objective of the initiative is to combat the rise of authoritarianism in the world, specifically, in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be a “decentralized federation” of economic development organizations and local advocacy.

According to a press release, the use of such economic power to seek political control has led to the authoritarian government model to be exported to other countries. To empower local organizations fighting against authoritarianism, Liberty Tokens will help in the development of a shared financial infrastructure and community. Wowoo (a token economy ecosystem) will also be a part of the said initiative.

Since May 2014, Thailand has been under the control of a military regime. Although the government has imposed internet censorship, it has been supportive regarding the growth of crypto sector in Thailand.

Supporters of blockchain technology have always maintained that its greatest utilization will be seen in safeguarding human rights. However, the crypto sector itself has been subjected to abuse in the past few years.
