Justin Sun Plans Universal Basic Income for 100 People

Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Yang is becoming popular thanks to his Universal Basic Income (UBI) idea, where every American would receive USD 1,000 per month. This money would be obtained from taxes on Internet corporations that have been wiping out retail jobs, and the idea is that UBI would stop homelessness and poverty.

The Founder and CEO of the Tron Foundation, Justin Sun, has promised to trial this idea and team up with Yang by giving USD 1,000 per month to 100 people for a year.

This is an order of magnitude greater than Yang’s promise to give UBI to 10 people for a year.

There is speculation that this is a PR stunt meant to cash in on the popularity of Yang and UBI, in order to attract more users to the Tron cryptocurrency. Indeed, Sun is known for big PR stunts like the USD 4.6 million charity lunch with Warren Buffett.

Yang has yet to respond to Sun’s proposition, and it is unclear how Sun’s UBI for 100 people will proceed if Yang does not respond.
