WhatsApp Now Allows Users to Accept and Send Crypto

WhatsApp, a freeware, cross-platform messenger, will allow its users to send and receive cryptocurrency on adding the WhatsApp bot, Lite.im. Zulu republic platform took to Twitter to announce the new feature. The transfer of digital assets has been made possible with just a few clicks. The popular message sharing platform will allow Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and ZTX, which is ZULU’s own native token.

WhatsApp users have to add the WhatsApp bot and follow the on-screen instructions to send and receive crypto. They have the option to set a default cryptocurrency. They can choose between two languages, that is, Spanish and English. Upon referring to friends or family, users can earn crypto as reward.

The addition of cryptocurrency to social media will definitely facilitate the faster and mass adoption of cryptocurrency. Facebook had also previously announced the launch of its cryptocurrency later this year. The addition and involvement of cryptocurrencies into these social media giants will perhaps serve as a tool for grabbing the attention of the tech-savvy youth. At present, approximately 1.5 billion people use WhatsApp.

Having the advantage of being an already established brand, these companies have the required financial support to swiftly execute their plans. Hence their role in promoting the cryptocurrency industry becomes quite significant and consequential.
